The movement

How to do a face pull

Use a steady range and keep each rep controlled from start to finish.

  1. 01

Set the rope around face height

Attach a rope to a cable and adjust the pulley to about face level. Hold one end in each hand.

  2. 02

    Step back and brace

Create enough distance for the cable to stay taut. Stand balanced and keep your ribs stacked over your hips.

  3. 03

    Pull toward your forehead

Draw the rope toward your face with your elbows out. Separate your hands as they come back, within a comfortable range.

  4. 04

    Return slowly

Extend your arms under control and keep your shoulders from being pulled forward abruptly.
