What you can bring with you
Lightweight supports CSV exports from Hevy and Strong without manual reformatting. The import transfers workout history and plans, including historical dates, weights, sets, and reps. You can continue with your existing records instead of rebuilding each workout by hand.
This compatibility applies to the supported Hevy and Strong files. A spreadsheet or export from a different app is not automatically the same format. For an existing routine in a note or screenshot, Lightweight also supports text, photos, screenshots, and voice input.
Prepare the original CSV
Export your data using the export function available in your current Hevy or Strong version. Keep a copy of the original file, and use that file for the import. You do not need to rearrange columns, rename headings, or paste rows into a new template.
If you open a CSV in a spreadsheet first, preserve the original separately: saving it again can change date formatting, decimal separators, or column values. Keep your source records until you have checked the result in Lightweight.
Export Strong data on iPhone
Strong's official help center describes the iPhone export under Settings → Export Strong Data. Save the original CSV and use that file for the Lightweight import. Menu wording can vary between app versions; check the linked official instructions if your screen differs.
The Strong help page also states that exported files cannot be imported back into Strong. Keep your existing account and original data while checking the transfer, rather than treating an export as a restore file.
Import and review the result
Use Lightweight's workout import flow to select your CSV. Review the imported history and plans before using them as your new baseline. Check a recent workout you remember well, as well as an older entry.
For a plan, check the exercise matches and the target sets and reps. For history, check the dates, the actual working-set results, and the weight units. Equipment names and exercise variations deserve attention because a similar name can describe a different movement.
- Check kilograms versus pounds.
- Check whether dumbbell weights mean per hand or combined.
- Compare a unilateral exercise's rep count with the original.
- Check assisted versus weighted pull-up entries.
Free and paid import limits
The free version of Lightweight has import limits. The paid version has no import limits. Check the current in-app terms for the allowance available to your account before importing a large history.
Keep the original export regardless of the plan you use. A few representative checks are useful even when an import completes successfully.
Continue the same routine before comparing progress
Use a familiar routine for your first logged session. Keep the exercise variations, weight conventions, and rep counting aligned with your previous records so the new entries remain comparable.
Lightweight displays previous exercise performance while you log sets. Review your imported history, enter the result you actually complete today, and add a note when the setup changes.
